Lesson In Humanity Poem by Thomas Plotz

Lesson In Humanity

Two blue Jays
In the naked tree
Casting there hungry
Eyes, down at me
I don't have much; but
I will still share; with
People and the animals around me here

For winter days are hard and cold
Chilling you to the bone
For the People you meet, out on the street
Giving you a lesson in Humanity

Oh, giving you a lesson in Humanity

Helping out with what you can
Means so much to others
A simple meal and a warmer place to sleep
Is a lesson in Humanity

Oh, it could happen to any of us
Just a trip in our plans
Starts a chain of events, and we slide
And we slide
And we slide
To a LIFE LESSON, in HUMANITY
