Let Justice Prevail Poem by David Wood

Let Justice Prevail

Rating: 5.0

Loyaulte Me Lie
Echoes through history
A sacred oath, a blessing
A cry for truth and justice
Of equality and freedom
That lies at the heart of
Kingship and of princes and men.
Let justice prevail in all its form
Let the truth be known
That Loyalty Binds Me.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
For those who didn’t study 15th Century French at school Loyaulte Me Lie was the motto of the much maligned King Richard III (1452-1485) and translates as Loyalty Binds Me. More can be found at the Richard III Society website www.richardiii.net

Truth and Justice are the time honoured values of life! When a country or people disclaim these values, havoc sets in! A great reminder! !

It is a simple truth that hatred cannot break and lies cannot penetrate.

And you never know one day justice may prevail. But with the amount of injustice in the world we may have a long wait. A great poem.
