Let Me Lie Poem by John Carter Brown

Let Me Lie

Rating: 5.0

Let me lie in my bath
Let me soak in the heat
From the tip of my head
To the toes of my feet.

Let me lie in it's fluid
And steamy embrace
From my head to my hips
From my feet to my waist.

Let me wallow in suds
At the end of the day
Like the hippos in mud
As they rest from their play.

Let me feel the deep calm
As I wash off my troubles
Hang on! .. what was that noise
And from where came those bubbles?

You can't take poetry too seriously. This made me laugh, thanks :)

I was so seriously reading this - and then I came to the last stanza! I laughed out loud. You made my day. Great poem!
