'' Let Nothing Else Distract '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Let Nothing Else Distract ''

Be you black or white, yellow or red,
You'll have a brain inside your head,
If you're alive you'll end up dead,
That's a basic fact.

Inside you'll feel what is emotion,
To those you cherish there's devotion,
All of this is life in motion,
Try to use some tact.

Everyone will feel love and hate,
Though both can annoy and frustrate,
Our lives we need to calibrate,
With others make a pact.

We can be cruel yet also kind,
To others needs we can be blind,
Exactly how you are defined,
Depends on how you react.

Some will assist those in need,
While others become obsessed by greed,
Some will fail while others succeed,
Who do you attract.

To butcher another we have the will,
To most that is a bitter pill,
We all have that ability to kill,
Some only when they're attacked.

Every culture has different gods,
What one condemns another applauds,
Yet with each other we're still at odds,
We need to interact.

Put all colour and creed to the side,
Allow common sense to be your guide,
The fact we're all Human cannot be denied,

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
To love or to loathe should be individual to each of us, we are far too easily influenced by others, be yourself it's so much better.
