Let Peace Thrive Poem by narayana aghalaya

Let Peace Thrive

caste, class, faith, rich, poor
all have finger in the pie
clashes, hatred lure
their leaders, harder they try
aided by lies, more men die

everyone loves peace
in group, madness takes over
this cancer should cease
cast group, for peace to savor
man-to-man exchange flowers

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Today is International peace Day.Individually, everyone loves peace. Who doesn't love to sleep peacefully, or listen to some melodious music or read some lovely poems?

But the devil is in groups. WE join so many groups. We belong to different races, different religions, diffferent castes (a peculiar grouping only in India) , different economic status groups, educated, not so well educated and so on.
Somehow we get brainwashed that we are the best, we are victimized by others.. and we should join together and fight. We fight to get political power to our group. We like to do ethnic cleansing. All hateful actitivities.Perhaps, if we think of ourselves as individual human beings we may better serve humanity!
cast(verb) - to throwsomething
caste-Hindus are divided into many castes and subcastes, tribes and so on. This has become a thorn in the flesh!
