We fight for land
We fight for water
We sometimes fight for things
We even deem not our own.
We fight for our nation
We fight in the name of religion
And in this process
Lose our sleep and song.
So let us fight against poverty
Against diseases and illiteracy,
If we are to take up arms
Let it be to set right these wrongs.
You brought me back to reality after your poems on wings and love. Let all our countrymen join the fight against poverty, disease and illiteracy instead of getting at the throat of one another in the name of silly issues. (10)
Well done. Versification on inspiration from a towering personality. Thanks for sharing.10 +++

Another thought-provoking poem...what is even worse: sometimes, we do not even know what we are fighting for...think of soldiers...do they know? A great poem!
