'' Let Wisdom Be Your Guide '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Let Wisdom Be Your Guide ''

For every action,
A consequence will follow,
It's like a distraction,
At times hard to swallow,
When comes the reaction,
Will in pity you wallow?
That is for you to decide.

Revenge is your view,
What will it achieve,
Will it cause such ado?
It's you who will grieve,
The hurt you accrue,
Will that bring you reprieve?
On that you will have to bide.

Straying from the norm,
Is that what you wanted,
Creating a storm,
Where you're feeling haunted,
Take on a new form,
Where you feel undaunted,
Does it make you feel good inside?

Have you thought of forgiving?
It can be divine,
It makes life worth living,
Helps make problems benign,
Forget any misgiving,
All will be fine,
It really can turn the tide.

The decision is yours,
What will it be,
Search for life's cures,
Or enjoy a melee,
When goodness reassures,
It is then you'll agree,
There is no sin in pride.

If you utilise thought,
Before acting it out,
If wisdom is sought,
Yourself you won't doubt,
Don't ever get caught,
When there's trouble about,
