Life And Death Poem by Paul Sebastian

Life And Death

Sir Death is not a respecter of man
Rudely barges in, robbing lives of human
Gives no warning of his coming
Like dark ruthless hooded knight intruding
Snuffs out loved ones who’d been everything
Sir Death, it’s only your sly temporary win!

Dreams in a sudden, vaporize
Love lost in loved-one’s demise
Floodgates break, tears gush
Shaken to the core, aghast
Heart rip-torn bleeds the loss
Time cannot heal the loss

Fond memories of shared love haunt
Yesterday’s grieve you tend to prolong
Bare memories, to recall in pleasure
Bury fond moments in the abyss treasure
But that theft is in the simple past
Nothing real here seem not to last

Let past bury its own grave
Worthless dwelling there, grieved
Present is here, loved ones are here
Love them, whilst they’re still here
They’re hope, promise of the future
They’re the very substance we revere

Face lifted, embolden, greet today
Dreams become reality day by day
Opportunities knock at the door
Sir Faith answers the success call
Sir Death, where’s your failure bid
Life is for the living, choose to live it!
