Life of my life, you seem to me
Like some pallid olive tree
Or the faded rose I see:
Nor do you lack beauty,
But pleasing in every way to me,
In shyness or in flattery,
Whether you follow me or flee,
Consume, destroy me softly.
Pleasing in every way to me! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Life of my life, you seem to me Like some pallid olive tree Super line......spiritualy express through your poetic style
Lovely poem. An emotion such as love can be so elusive. With all its doubts and assurances it has power to build or destroy one at any time of life. Have mercy O love! Destroy me softly!
Though she seems you pallid olive tree or faded rose yet she is pleasing in every way to you.A beautiful philosophical poem shared.
you seem to me / Like some pallid olive tree / Or the faded rose I see: - - - -] I am not seeing a romance brewing with those words - - -but the rest of the poem works especially that last line - -] Consume, destroy me softly.
