Life Passing So Quickly Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Life Passing So Quickly

Sensations of joy and happiness fill us with satisfaction
for periods of time in our lives, but never last too long,
why is that I often think.

Death plays its part well, no matter what age we happen to
be through the years, life on earth passing so quickly,
like water through our fingers it seems.

For some reason three-hundred sixty-five days a year is not
very much time into which we must cram all sorts of things
into and still learn from them.

Loved ones, family, friends, strangers along the way, gather-
ing necessities, feeding ourselves, talking, working, pro-
viding for our families and having some leisure time.

How do we fit in our actual purposes on earth, where do we
find them - many times people neglecting their all-important
interior lives and its spirituality to their detriment.

Having nothing to fall back on in difficult and trying times,
religion having been put on a back burner or thrown out for
fulfillment of selfish desires, wants, passion.

Ignoring others in need, having no compassion to speak of,
these inane attitudes then being taught to their children
and other children who have no understanding to speak of.

Following like sheep these so-called adult leaders who
have no real beliefs or morals, adrift in a sea of humanity
that's floundering for something to fill the void.

There is nothing to take away the emptiness created inside
of them, because of those who have fallen away from God,
preferring doing the wrong things instead of right.
