Life's Horizon

One cannot know
What is beyond life's horizon.
The toil of daily battles.
Defeat. Or victory won.

Would there be sunshine,
Or would there be rain?
Would there be joy,
Or would there be pain?

And if one had the chance
To peep behind the veil,
Would the heart rejoice,
Or would its rhythm fail?
