Lifes' Highway Poem by Regena Henderson

Lifes' Highway

Rating: 5.0

I sit and think,
and wonder why,
I can't seem to live
before I die.
I really tried
with all my might,
to live life,
and do what
was right.
Then one day,
I hit a bump,
knocked me off track,
and i ran
right thru the dump.
I kept trying
to get back on the road.
each time I'd try
my tires would explode!
I went so far
down that uncertain road,
while carrying a heavy load.
There were times I thought
I was finding my way,
back to where,
I hit the bump that day.
The surroundings were familiar,
I'd think I was home,
but as I looked around,
well I was still gone.
So I traveled and blundered,
that uncertain road
the further I went'
the heavier my load.
then I happened, upon a side street,
I say.. I took it
it lead me to where I am today,
i think, ill stay!

Great poem. Yes a time comes when you sit and it dawns upon that this is the life. We simply have to take whatever comes on our way. Thanks for sharing.
