Lighthouse Poem by Bishnupada Sethi

Lighthouse

Rating: 5.0

I'm braving a severe bad weather-
The deafening sounds of high wind
Lashing of harsh rain look scary.
High swells in the deep ocean
Put my ship in turmoil.
I'm uncertain.

It's pitching and rolling.
I'm caught in the radius
Of a tropical storm
Though as a mariner
I try to maintain the course
Knowing how should I approach
While going towards the storm.

From about few miles yonder
A beacon of light assures-
Alerting me of the perilous rocky coast
And the dangerous shallows
Many sand bars and reefs-
I should not be drifted away.

My life is precious.
I wish to be alive.
The lighthouse rekindles hope,
Guides my path
In the darkest of nights.
