Like A Marshmallow Poem by Helena Way

Like A Marshmallow

Rating: 4.8

Music is beauty in my mind
Pouring words from thoughts once blind
The beat makes a steady thrum in my heart
While my ears are tingling with pure delight
I feel the drum with my whole body
Swaying to the sound of the electric tune
My fingers twitch with the need to follow
Music makes me soft, like a squishy marshmallow

I feel the same way about music, although I've never thought to describe it like that. I love that last line so much. I haven't genuinely smiled in so long, and that line got me to smile.

Commendable work, Helena. I like your employment of metaphor & asimile in using musical parlance, to express. Nicely Done! ~FjR~ -2008-
