He that hails evil ‘pon this good earth,
Earns means nor yet merits,
Nor good deeds inherits,
Vain, worthless upon earth be his birth,
Like goat's false teats on neck— of no worth.

Your poet's note....Karmic deeds: Many things that man often does are like goat's false teats, of no worth. Such a man lives worthless upon earth, vain his birth" has been well reflected in this Limerick. Thanks for sharing dear sir.

Thank you Valsa George, I am not repeating the note on Limericks in all my 'Words well said' series, but I think Limericks is a very versatile form open to varied treatment. You might like to read it. You have made a very valid point.

A limerick carrying wit sir! I appreciated the wisdom embodied in it than fun..........................10
You are absolutely right. It was my point that Limericks began their life as pieces/poems humorous in nature, or even leg-pulling type. But they are quite versatile in their constructions. They enable even more lines than the standard five, as in one and a half limerick or even a double one. What is important they brilliantly carry on their able shoulders even serious thoughts equally effortlessly. I would welcome your comments.

This poem stands for a limerick that can also be really meaningful and truth speaking unlike the usual definition of humour or nonsense for a limerick...interesting
Yes, indeed, that is the intention. Thanks for the appreciation. I value it.
