Like None Other Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Like None Other

What is a true mother nowadays
In a culture of such violence
In which Christians are killing Muslims
Jews are killing Palestinians
Russians are killing Ukrainians?

What is a true mother nowadays
In a climate so very dismal
In which gray is blurred by black and white
Those sworn to protect are murdering
Innocent brothers and sisters?

What is a true mother nowadays
In which Pro-Life is killing living
Tearing babies away from parents
Locking them in cages...criminals?
Such living in a democracy?

What is a true mother nowadays?
A human being with good morals
One who knows meaning of good and bad
One who sacrifices her own life
So that children may somehow prosper
