Literally Shattered Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Literally Shattered

Literally shattered

I never wept
The tempo was kept
In childhood I might have been different
But I talk of present

The children are growing
The family is allowing
Free hand to maneuver
And in turn get shelter

The death does not deter
The breathe always offer
New energy to lungs
To dig wells and sing

I find no reason
As an able person
To weep under any pretext
And precedent wrongly set

Occasionally I felt
For pain and agony that was spelt
For all those who suffered
My faith literally shattered
