I like the idea of making peace with an enemy so one can sleep well

I first read this and thought it was about marriage, but it's only after a few readings that I see it could be about marriage of life and death. Finding peace with what shall come. Brilliant writ M.J.

Thank you so much, Kevin. And you make a great observation. I indeed did have the end, the ultimate end, in mind as a possibility.

'Rest in peace' evokes thoughts of death, so I like your final decision. After reading your poem a few times, I kept getting the message that archenemies have become friends.

Great observation, Richard. My intent was to create something with a degree of ambiguity so that a reader could see either tragedy or comedy. The friemdly outcome certainly does work. Thanks for reading, Richard..
