A little breath of scandal,
And a pair of eager ears.
Suddenly a public tale is told,
That only fades after many years.
The breaking of a doomed soul,
With old friends passing by.
A little breath fanned by the breeze,
I wonder wonder why.
A little act of kindness,
Where are those eager ears.
Where is that breeze to circulate,
That it might live through the years.
For little deeds mean nothing,
Only nasty rumours fly.
It seems all wrong- but is it so,
I wonder wonder why? ...
Excellent poem Shaun...unfortunately, rather than real investigative journalism (John Pliger is an exception that proves the rule I think) , the U.K press, mainstream media (and its hacks...I refuse to refer to them as journalists) are keen to promote their, apparently, intoxicating stories for millions of eager ears and eyes....such a sad state of affairs. Anyway, it's a full score of five from me!
Hi Shaun..Gossip can be so destructive sometimes and some people are only happy peddling pain and grief rather than the better side of life..thats' pretty much how so much of Social Media seems to be going at the moment..what could be a force for good..becomes the opposite..Great piece Shaun and so relevant..full marks my friend and thank you for sharing Lodigiana x
An astute observation of people's behavior. Very perceptive and so very true. The little kindness we show will be nothing compared with little mistakes we committed in life. Brilliantly crafted and conveyed. To my Poem List and five stars! ! !

never a truer word said, Sadly Like the old saying goes. don't let the truth stand in the way of a good rumour. Unfortunately many a person have been victims of peoples unwanted perceptions and narrow mindedness.Well done Shaun
