Living 4 Today Poem by Linda I. Weischedel

There are so many times I wished you didn't live
so far away,
though my life is now here, it would be so nice if you could
only live near,
yet it is very heart-warming when I pick up the phone and it is your voice that I hear.

It may only be one week within a year that I get to see you,
we then have the precious time to reminisce the days of old,
and to catch up on events that are new,
it's amazing how time flys and how we must scramble for some leisurely things to do.

I think of the fun stuff I did when I grew up out there,
though I honestly love my life here,
living with a whole new set of wonderful people who truly care.

I will never forget the adventures of my past,
within everyday of my new life I am creating loving memories that will forever last.

One thing that I can profess to be true,
I shall cherrish certain parts of the life I only
once knew, and to state aloud with these words I say,
I honestly love myself, and the life I lead today!
