Living Divide Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Living Divide

The season is changing, as years, have gone by
Still waiting for something to hold on this time
In the dark I'm alone, thinking into a sleep
Hoping someday, somebody, will want what you leave

Our life together has become a divide
Your thoughts are not given, your heart is unkind
It is a feeling of loss that hurts when I try
I have no reason to stay, dear; You've been gone a long time

Bring our love back to the sunshine once free
Don't let me die in the darkness- I'm begging you, please
I can offer another who wants what I need
Why hold on to a promise you no longer believe

It hurts to live without love in my life
Not a woman to hold me, or a kiss in the night
The shadow you left brings a tear to my eyes
I live with a ghost who sleeps by my side

Follow the rain drops into my dream
Hear the echo of silence broken by screams
Crying out with a prayer for what life use to be
Only God never listens when you beg, in a dream

Ever changing, is the feeling I once felt inside
The excitement of my darling to the end of my life
Maybe love is only a wish for the young to believe
Until the end of forever when one heart's left to bleed
