Locked Box Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Locked Box

Open up that locked box.
And seal up all the peepholes.
Step outside.
Identify to realize,
Life to live it ISN'T not a cruise.

Threats to fear them can be caused,
Even by bad weather.
Life to live it is not a cruise.

Remaining upset,
Does not make life to live better.
People can be rude.
And disrespectful too!
We all go through our attitudes,
And ugly changing moods.
Like the seasons,
To come and go each year.
Few may sit complaining,
Over which season to fear...
Then to hide when it came near.
Life to live it is not a cruise.

No one is nice to like,
Every single day.
Manipulating with a kindness,
To have their way.
Yet they are often ones picked,
To later make the people sick.
Regretting to complain of it.
Life to live it is not a cruise.

Open up that locked box.
Step outside.
To realize,
Life to live it is not a cruise.

There will be ups.
With some downs.
But if the people are all smiling,
Get out of town.

Become suspicious.
And do this quick.
Rent a UHaul, pack up! And split.
Life to live it is not a cruise.
