Locked To Stop Free Entry Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Locked To Stop Free Entry

Easier it becomes to close a door.
Without it to hesitate a thought to give.
The having it to have had enough,
Has arrived.
With that door locked to stop free entry.
Done to do to learn an earning,
Of yet another lesson.
Taught to teach unexpectedly.

Once a door opened to welcome,
Anyone to come and go as they please.
Finally becomes recognized,
As a misunderstanding.

One's home one has made,
Has to be understood...
Is not a clubhouse.
For others to take for granted,
And disrespectfully.
That the one who pays all the bills.
Provides hospitality and food to eat.
Should also entertain and be the servant!
Joyfully.
Allowing them to do as they please to leave,
A mess to clean up and directions...
How to begin that process to start.

"Uh...
Thank you for coming."

-No problem.
None at all.
Although...
If I may suggest,
Those chips you served with that dip?
Tasted a little stale.
And those scallops wrapped in bacon,
Then baked?
Try to cook them slower next time.
Call me if you need to know how that's done! -

"Trust me.
That will not be a problem.
None at all.
Slow I may be to learn a lesson.
But once I get the message,
It stays in my head forever."

-Gee.
How I wish I had known that.-

"Me too!
You have no idea,
How quick I am to prove it."
