Loneliness Poem by Dorsey Baker

Loneliness

Loneliness
is like a room
occupied by nothing
but darkness
and no light anywhere in sight
Loneliness
is like a prison of feelings
but none of them can escape
like a shadow
and a closet full of empty space
feeling hunger
feeling hunger
but nothing seems to satisfy
Loneliness is a bridge
where some are able to cross
and some stay behind
Loneliness is deeper than
a state of mind
