Loneness Within Shadows Poem by Katherine Graven

Loneness Within Shadows

Rating: 5.0

Shadows at the break of day
Are ignored in every way
Has been told from the time of a child
Don’t be scared it is only shadows acting wild

In the darkness beyond a casting light
Shadows beg to dance with you throughout the night
Still it is ignored for no one can see
Shadows are only wanting some company

Shadows never make a sound
Or even thinks of letting you down
Never ever getting in your way
No voice to be heard, sits patiently in dismay

Shadows grab hold of you, their other self
A friend indeed placed on a shelf
Oh don’t worry they are always there
Right beside you, as if you cared

One day you will ponder a decision
That will bring sadness or wisdom
Lessons unlearned and changed seasons
Only God is to know life’s true reasons

So

Is the soul you say is your only love

Going to be your afterglow

Or

Someone lonely within your shadow
