Long Lived, Short Loved Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Long Lived, Short Loved

By Freeyad Ibrahim

After you disappeared, I gave my life a disgusting gaze
After you who ever cares for grace or disgrace

No time to blame for blaming is useless
One thing I want to tell you I love you to embrace

They seek the moon in the pitch dark moonless night
I have got a brighter night if you show me your face

I dare to say everything in your absence of your love
How can I tell my feeling to you ever face-to-face

Our future I arrange how we to live together
I vow to you next time my history to erase

Next to you all houses and parks are my place
Afar from you only a grotto might be my living place

I followed you in my dream until we got to your door
I realize, I have not you but your shadow I chase

All my cries I hide when I see you in the garden
The day I couldn't see you more difficulties I face

Seeing you is to me my first options my flower
Not seeing you is by far a difficult race, a different case

My short sighting friends think I have just written a book
No book written, over your face, I've just written a phrase

My head circles like someone lost his own dwelling
I must walk all the times, I do not know your place

Can anyone prevent me from seeing the high moon
For no one can prevent me from seeing your face

No one time you looked after to see me following you
Grant me once a sweet smile for I am years on your trace

They say love makes you mad, makes you glad to fly
But unanswered you get fully deteriorated from the base

I don't count this year or add it to my age
For you are absent departed for no reason, no case

Sleepless I count minutes waiting the day to see you
But the night walks slowly like shoes without lace

The world being with you is the whole-time spring
Without you my heart looks like a fireplace

I lived long before I realized I have lost you and my age
Not only one single time you've treated me with grace

Farwell as you like, for good as you do prefer
But remember in my death I'd follow your trace!
