Longing Part 2 Poem by ESPN CHICK

Wanting to escape this place
Escape all I know that's around me
Cause it's hurting me inside and out
With all the voices saying nothing but lies

Lies that sank in my mind
And eventually they try to destroy me
But I'm not going down

Cause I have someone that is my shield
God a forever loving one that is
One who protects his people
One who loves me just the way I am

One who loves everyone
Who made us and knows our every move
Someone who we can go to for anything

He already knows our deepest secrets
But there not even secrets to him only to the world
So why not talk to him and he will listen
And answer but you have to be a believer in order to hear what he is saying

Its sometimes hard to understand but sometimes we don't want to understand
Cause we think his way is the wrong way
And then we set off on our own

But we always stumble and fall and wind up doing the same thing over and over again
Its an never ending circle
We always tend to think we are right and just push God to the side like he means nothing at all
We never take time to understand him

We always jump to conclusions
Or we are always too busy to have time for God
But we always have time to schedule that hair appointment on our busy days

Longing for love and attention but we seek it in the wrong places
And then we wind up getting hurt then we do it over again
Searching longing for someone to hold close and spill out our feelings to on that bad day we had
When all we have to do is look above and know that God our heavenly father is always there

He's longing to hold us and longing to hear our voices
Longing to hear about that bad day
He's longing to take us and protect us and he always says the right things

He knows us in and out cause he made every part of us
So he knows us all to well
But we don't see it that way and we go down that path where we go and seek answers in all the wrong places
Let it go leave all the sorrows behind and thank God for everything you've got

Always know he is there and he will guide our every move
All we have to do is ask and then we will receive
But we have to put our hearts into his hands and trust him and know that he is the only ONE who can help us make it through this cold world
