Looking At A Girl Looking In A Mirror Back At Me Poem by Christopher's Dead

Looking At A Girl Looking In A Mirror Back At Me

Rating: 5.0

Maybe you’re everything I want
Because I’m everything I hate
And what I love about you most
Is that we are both the same
It seems that everything you do
I am just trying to run away
From and then we put the nail
On the coffin that bears my name
It’s always harder to love someone
When you can’t even love yourself
Hypocrisy takes its toll
Recuperating mouth to mouth

And we say save yourself, serve yourself
Love for nothing
Surround a ring of wealth ‘round yourself
Brake for conversation
Your bitter pill of sex and lust
Remember times of head and
Choking up, all this dust

Drinking down a piss of alcohol
Lose a face amongst a crowd
Tell yourself you love this girl
And watch another two make out
While I play games inside my head
Tell myself it’s not your fault
Placing blame around a noose
Out of pride and pity to a halt
Stop myself, look behind
Believing lies of which I see
The truth of what is in your mouth
Just slit my wrists and watch them bleed

In the name of the end
To the end with my name
Stopping self-sacrifice
Producing crystallizing shame
I blame myself to blame someone
Else so I don’t blame myself
For falling in love with a girl
That I can’t be with or else
