Looking For Answers - Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak
Thinking constantly about reasons for living, be-
cause so much in this world is experienced through
grief, suffering, loneliness and abandonment.
Why do we have to go through it all so intensely,
at least most of us do, there are a few that are
free from those tremendous burdens for a while.
Is it because in previous lives they have lived
and learned the lessons that God gives to all of
us, this I do not know.
Never believing in reincarnation, but having met
many people from India recently, learning their
culture, way of life and thinking.
Now curious and wondering about these particular
things in life, belief in solving pain in ones
being seems to need to go through our hearts.
Causing much grief, intense sadness, a healing
seems to come about, not totally, but a fraction
of it anyway.
So here I sit writing, wondering and curious to
find the answers that I am now looking for, maybe
finding them buried deep in my spiritual humanity.
