Loss Of Eye Contact Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Loss Of Eye Contact

You and I have one thing in common!
We both are attracted to exit signs...
Without a need to ask for direction.
Unfortunately...
Some folks are so hypnotized,
By their own ego...
They believe the display
Of someone's lack of attention
And loss of eye contact...
Is a signal for them,
To produce pictures of ugly children!

'I'm sorry!
I didn't know those were 'not' pictures,
Of you taken at a petting zoo!
Ooooohhh...I see,
They are your grandchildren? Well...
No offense, but can you point out which
Ones are which! ?
Will you ever forgive me? '
