Lost In The Stars Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Lost In The Stars

Rating: 5.0

You taught me
the stars
guided me through
night skies

held my hand
as we wandered the Heavens
walking among stars
making love under Orion

planets...comets
(all was known to you... stars bowed before you)
falling stars...wishes.
I wished for you forever
that the stars would hold their place

never change.
But change they did.
The moon hid behind clouds
and cried.

Now I wander among the Heavens
remember making love
under Orion
lost among such splendour
I call your name
but Heaven is empty
and the stars cannot be seen.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Scarlett Treat 23 August 2007

Again, the sadness of being alone...and the stars cannot be seen for heaven is empty...and she is no longer there. Breaks my heart, for I have been there.
