Love Changes You Poem by Randy McClave

Love Changes You

Rating: 5.0

I was a loner
I didn't trust the female,
My heart has just one owner
Its needs would no longer prevail.
Another woman I wouldn't care for
After the pain that was inflicted upon me,
I will not go through that hell no more
I was once blinded, but now I see.
If in a battle I must fight
I will need no woman at my side,
I am my own strength and my own might
Pain and heartache is the truest guide.
I don't need a woman to worry about
I need no woman to hold,
Whenever I am confused and in doubt
I will always remember, the sadness and the cold.
I want no woman to protect
Nor do I want any woman to defend,
I hate being seen or thought of as an object
I want no wife, or girlfriend.
No one else's luggage do I want to carry
My load is heavy enough,
Never again to God I swear, will I marry
To a woman's charm I will always rebuff.
Unto love I swear that I am opposed
For a woman never again will I worry about or care,
My heart will forever stay closed
If I ever need guidance, I will do it on a dare.
I need no woman to inspire
Whenever I sit down to think or create,
With matches I can start my own fire
I most definitely do not need a mate.
But, then that one day I saw her
Who she was, then I never knew,
My life then dramatically changed with a stir;
Love, changes you.
