Love In The Rearview Mirror - Poem by Almedia Knight Oliver

Sitting in the back seat,
Seeing his eyes glancing
Right to left, as we drove along-
Side the grassy knolls.

His dancing eyes held me tight
in the rearview mirror of the car
my captured heart trembling while
being held under his command.

I watched the moon rising
In his eyes and his pupils
Lighting up the dark highway
And endless sky above.

I peered into his tender heart
visioning the essence of the purest
love permeating me and beyond

Revisiting times your eyes lay on mine,
Feeling your lips on mine and
Your heart beating with mine; and the
heavenly choir singing 'our love is anywhere'

A great write Almedia. I was drawn right into the back seat with you and watched as you wrote this poem about your love affair. Just great. Lynn (Report) Reply

    His dancing eyes held me
So close that, I felt like a
    Trembling heart of a captive
    Bird held under his command.

this is exquisitely lovely, shows the story of love is ever waiting to be told by lovers, and this is one such write that explodes from your pen finding a home in our hearts

Wow! Aha …splendid imageries…and an offbeat poem… eye-reading in rear mirror…and immix with one’s passion in exaltation ecstasy … raptus…

Gorgeous imagery throughout this beautiful romantic and the 'eyes' did if for me. Love abounds and my heart did some flutters as I read it. 10 Karin Anderson (Report) Reply
