Love Injection Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Love Injection

Rating: 5.0

Months and months of
contemplation, conference
hours and hours, lux hours
day in day out, burnt and wasted
meddling and playing with
criss-cross real life puzzle
what to do, how to do, when to do

She, talking to the ceiling
cursing to every sound heard
any sight, eyes captured
letting out feelings as
sighs, cries, groans and mourns
daily, from morn till eve, silently
contemplated relief from
devilish ghostly being, she's suckled

After a bath ‘n the rest, today, she smiles
looking through sanatorium window
in to blank airy outside
seeing blue sky, emerald canopies
hearing birds, feeling warmth of
nightingale running up and down
freed herself from long held
dumbfounded posture
"Mata bada giniiiiiiiii..........! "
(I am hungry......!)

I remember my grandmother to this poem of you, but im too young and small at that time and can do nothing but to stare and cry inside my room, many times I tried to come near and hug her but they're keeping me away from her, and they give me no reasons why till they brought her somewhere that I dont know I ask them why they cant carry her... till she died, I never saw her again.... you really touches me.... thank u soooooo much

It is so sad that after spending the whole of life for the children, a mother is treated so callous to the extent of even starving her! Even in an old age home where she is fed properly, she finds greater joy than being in the company of her indifferent and ungrateful children! A very touching write!

The plight of life! But, old age is part of us; able to give us light along the line. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

What a cruel joke life is. You spend years working, learning, growing, sharing and becoming wise; only to have your body and mind deteriorate.

Let us hope this will not happen to any parent. Thank you Kelly.
