Love Is Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Love Is

Rating: 5.0

Love is a red rose
Fully abloom;
A not so passing fancy
As in dreams deferred,
Like the warmth of the sun
Upon our summering shoulders;

Love is like an endless ocean
Of absolute dedication;
In it's depths- quite unfathomnable
And never shallow;
Leaving it's indelible impression
In stones one finds upon it's beach;
Never to be washed away
As in the sands upon the shore;

Love is the journey and the destination;
A beginning and arrival
Of things longed for,
Of needs that are finally met;
The absolute satisfaction
In the knowing of it,
And the fulfillment of it's hunger,
Becoming sated and at peace
At last in the warmth of your arms;
