Love Is A Dream - Poem by Charles Tomar

Love is a dream,
One I’ve had before.
Love is a dream,
I am asleep.
Love is a face,
One I can’t replace.
Love is giving up a piece of one’s self,
I am full of holes.
Returned love is happiness,
I am sad.
Rejected love is looking AT someone’s eyes,
Instead of INTO them.
Love is falling asleep for the sake of dreaming,
I am tired.

I look AT her eyes,
I know her face
I try but cannot replace
I give ‘til I’m gone
In darkness I dream
In light I sleepwalk
I live a dream.
Dreams are not real,
I am fake.
Love is dream,
I AM LOVE.
