Love Is Never Inert Poem by Susan Williams

Love Is Never Inert

Rating: 5.0

Love is never inert
like some rock embedded in the dirt
Never emotionless
Never motionless
It is the steel ball bearing
slung this way and that
that way and this
from peg to railing
and railing to peg
from flipper to bumper
and bumper to flipper
Love is the steel ball bearing
inside life's pinball machine.

Love can be work and at times the heart feels bounced all over the place like it can be in life...
