Love Letter
I dared a glance upward, above
a grey overcast world.
Then, with a sudden unexpectedness,
the clouds parted, like
the opening of an old envelope.
The sun, looking like a great eye,
peered in upon me, with such warmth and beauty,
I felt as if I were a love letter
being taken out of my shell
to be read by God, again.
I had nearly forgotten
how good it felt to be alive,
reading the words of love
written upon my heart -
