Love Letters I Wrote For You Poem by Nomfundo Mahlangu

Love Letters I Wrote For You

Rating: 5.0

Love letters I wrote for you
Hard prayers I said for you
Tears I cried for you
Fears I had to lose you

Love letters I wrote for you
with thoughts giving me a heartache
Pain of knowing I'll never get to see you and
I'll never get to hold you in my arms

Pain of realising I'll never get to mother you, to watch you sleep, to see your cute smile and your silly face when you want to cry

The love I had hoped we'll share
through our bond session when you would have held my finger with your tiny hand for dear life

Heartache of knowing I'll never watch you grow
I'll never hold your tiny hand in mine
so as to take the fears of taking your first
step away

Love letters I wrote for you
Wet papers soaked with my ever
drying tears
Delayed by the fears of losing you

Love letters I wrote for you
with hard prayers I said for you
Hoping the Lord will tell me
how you holding up in heaven

Love letters I wrote for you
That even the best post office man
couldn't deliver for you're
in a place only angels could reach

I wrote you love letters my Angel
with many words that can't even
begin to describe how I feel
without being given a chance
to mother you

Feeling of knowing you hear me
keeps me alive
