Love Lost Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Love Lost

When love is lost the heart becomes disarrayed
With brightest star in life's heaven in fierce decline
Darkness engulfing with tears weeping the eyes.
All cherished dreams of what might have been
Vanishing with each tear leaving behind misery.
Expectations gone with vow never to laugh again
Soul cruelly buffeted by furies from purple storms
All hope broken asunder, crushed and spoilt
With heart sorely wounded, isolated and bleeding.
Love stumbles and falls prey to cruel dark despair
While the soul must struggle broken over loss of lover.
Flowers of the heart can no longer flourish in full bloom
Nor the soul's lilting music for love be so inspiring
For love is lost because you are gone from me.
