Love Me For Who I Am Poem by Paul Sebastian

Love Me For Who I Am

Rating: 5.0

I may not be famous or wealthy
To buy you pricey gifts aplenty
I may not be highly positioned
Not someone you envisioned
Would you love me for who I am?

I have no looks of a famous star
Youthful physique left me afar
Youthful-likeness seem to stay
Wisdom, positivism I do portray
Would you love me for who I am?

I would give a bounty of true love
For your joy to be complete, I strive
Your satisfaction is my fulfillment
To love completely is my commitment
Would you still love me for who I am?

You are the purpose of all I do
Next to God, my life is all you
Daily thank God for the gift of you
More than any diamond, is your value
All my life I will honour and love you

Pray God would adjoin us forever
To live our lives for each other
Allow nothing to put us asunder
We’ll face ups and downs, together
Non-respecting roaring years pass us
Wrinkled skin and slow pace
Seasoned love would survive us
Would you then, love me for who I am?

Paul, This is a magnificent work...I love the rhyme, the sentiment...and most of all the expression, the desire, that almost all of us hold most deeply....the wish to be loved For Who I Am. Poetry at its finest!
