Love Poem - Poem by Amberlee Carter

in my dreams last night
you were a poet
who pulled words from
the pale womb of sky
to give them life-
though you arranged them to die
upon your pages
their final resting place

and I thought to myself
there could be no sweeter death or
tomb in which to rest
then the places where your eyes would always turn
to look for meaning
