Love's Warning. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Love's Warning.

Rating: 5.0

If true love could speak,
Ego won't have the ears to hear it.

For eyes bewitched by cries,
Heart tied with promises.

Failed compromises.
At the risk of a broken legacy fades.

Letting go of a tight knot.
Torn flesh with tasked trials.

Inside the ribs are broken,
The heart is harmed.

For the risk of true love to adorn.
Has been made as walking in a rose garden filled with only thorns.

Nice one. I think though if phrases could be shorted the reader will be haunted more...like Ego ear wont hear it......this way you achieve both dramatic effect and the ear/hear alliteration makes reader go aha..nice Good poem
