Love Silently Held Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Love Silently Held

When younger, meeting a woman with heart so gentle and loving,
desires for one another building whenever we were together,
time intervened, we went our separate ways.

Each finding someone else, getting married, having children,
keeping in touch through the years, talking on the phone, our

love always lying in a corner of our lives.

Unable to be shared, living on separate sides of the world
now, often thinking of her and I, wishing we had never parted
so long ago.

Living in our little moments when sharing, realizing that we've
never ever left our love behind, it's still being silently held
in each of our hearts.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem inspired by a musician friend who asked me to write a poem about a long lost love so he could put it to music. I wrote five in a row for him. We will be getting together after next Sunday to put one of them to music, and he wants to put many other of my poems to music on a CD. Will be selling them here in Phoenix.
