Love Vs Lust - Poem by Amitava Sur

We do love.
We need love.

Lust also is there,

But is that love a
Lovable lust! !
Or a
Lustful love! !

There lies the mystery and truth
The whole game is up to us,
To judge and act in a rightful way
And not to play any fuss.

Love Vs Lust is a long living dilemma, and you have answered so rightly in the last stanza:
'The whole game is up to us,
To judge and act in a rightful way
And not to play any fuss.' - Well done, my friend!

judge and act in a rightful way
The fundamental principle is forgotten by a few and introduces problems in society. Nice poem.

A beautiful short poem, giving a lot to think on it. Both mystery and truth, lies in love and lust. It is very difficult to differentiate....Loved reading it. (Report)Reply

Amitava, having read your poem again I see and understand what you were trying to say. Especially when reading these lines again: There lies the mystery and truth The whole game is up to us, To judge and act in a rightful way And not to play any fuss. Once I read them calmly again, I knew what you were saying. A beautiful, thoughtful poem, Amitava. I see your perception now. Thank you. RoseAnn (Report)Reply

Love and lust when mixed in a balanced proportion create beauty. When lust starts dominating the beauty is converted in ugliness. You forced me to think and when you do so your poem is a success. (Report)Reply
