sometimes I doubt
and sometimes I fear
at times my pain
gets the best of me
and I am overwhelmed

but there you are
living right beside me
in me
sharing my being
caring for me
hurting with me
loving me
despite myself.

when my heart
can no longer beat
you offer me yours
not because
you can or have to
but because you love me
it is not for me to understand
just for me to accept
your gift

so, with my soul bared
broken I come
to your arms, to your heart
hoping to one day
be made whole
and be one with you
always
