Low Moments Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Low Moments

Who has ever known those low moments.
Accepted and prepared for them,
To show up unannounced.
And who is it that sits,
Wishing for these low moments...
To not shorten but continue to prolong,
Their unwelcomed and unexpected...
Pesty uncontrolled visits.

Low Moments to medicate away,
Is as much needed...
As a hangover to have,
Giving any low moment...
More recognition than it needs.
And pleading to God repeatedly,
To remove hangovers from one's stupidity.
God seems to do.
But few who numb their heads,
Seem to accept their low moments.
And won't ask from God,
To eliminate them instead.
Leaving it to be left believed,
Those who complain,
About their low moments.
Invite them to excuse,
A habit they deny.
To keep lieing to themselves about.
