Lucifer's Endless War And A Book Written By Many Great Poets Poem by Shaun Cronick

Lucifer's Endless War And A Book Written By Many Great Poets

Lucifer was angered by God and His good earth and humanity.
And decided to lead his demon army to destroy all...
The war had been raging now for many years,
And humanity was sadly and slowly losing.
Lucifer could raise a never ending army of demons.
And until he was contained,
The war and its fighting would never cease.
In order to stop him,
God gave humanity a ritual,
That would seal away Lucifer forever!
The Pope was instructed to carry out this command and operation.
However,
Before they could seal Lucifer away,
They first had to find him.
Suddenly,
Blessed with an idea,
The Pope went to gather the world's greatest poets,
Artists, authors and even more great poets.
When they were all assembled,
The Pope set them all to work to create,
The most elaborate work of fiction in history.
Every little nuance of this work,
Was written and illustrated.
Every blade of grass was meticulously described,
In fine verse, equally fine words and breath taking imagery!
After decades of continuous work,
The project was now finally complete.
Bound together in a million and one page book.
This tome described the Universe in more poetic detail,
Than real life could ever imagine.
It was truly beautiful.
The book was placed on an altar,
And with the preparations now finally complete,
The ritual began...
The book then magically opened,
And to everyone's amazement,
As soon as Holy Light shone on the book,
Lucifer appeared!
Like a shadow in the light,
His presence radiated absolute evil.
But it was too late for him.
The light then closed onto the open book,
And Lucifer was bound within it.
As it then it slammed shut.
From which Lucifer could never escape.
There was silence for a minute,
Then everyone erupted into cheers.
Amidst the celebrations,
Someone asked the Pope how he knew,
Where to find Lucifer.
The room grew quiet as everybody awaited his answer.
Well, he said,
It was really quite simple...
Everybody knows the Devil's in the details.
