She is nonagenarian now,
Her heart bits slow.
Lungs pump reluctantly,
Cranial bones groan in pain,
Joints in inertia row.
Doctors say that the Head
Has burdened much load.
The Heart has given
Too much Love,
And excessive Care,
Lungs consumed charcoal,
Has inhaled volumes of smoke.
(while cooking meals)
Her children are Elites now,
Have approaches and remedies.
But they are not seen at all,
Mother longs to live alone.
Along the memories of those days,
With her then children.
Sad poem, feelings are infused in it.thanks for sharing this fabulous poem with us

A beautiful rhetorical piece of poetry. Deep feelings expressed with wonderful command of the language. Thanks for sharing Debendra.
thank you dear friend Chinedu for understanding the feelings of a mother in her old age and appreciating the depiction of intensity of that feeling.
Doctors say that the Head Has burdened much load. The Heart has given Too much Love, And excessive Care, Lungs consumed charcoal, Has inhaled volumes of smoke. (while cooking meals) - - - - - - -It is an irony that children forget how their mother sacrificed her whole life for their sake. Memories of bygone days are her only companions at the last stage of life.
