Madness Poem by Matt Bennett

Madness

Rating: 3.5

Slowly I slip into madness,
My lonliness is all consuming.
Nothing can contain my sadness,
The faint cries I hear are soothing.

There is a black void,
Right where my heart used to be.
All lifesigns have been destroyed,
Here, there is nothing left for me.

A lone wolf cries in the distance,
The forest is lit by darkness.
Life force lost in an instance,
I feel I am laid now to rest.

With encompassing lonliness,
You realise just how much misery has you.
Some will pray to their holiness,
But I beg you to read what is true.

With words unspoken,
And actions undone,
The world is for all but the broken,
And away I will run.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Written 3rd of October 2012. My only comment to make is, I am the lone wolf. Sometimes I like to make a poem both first and third person, I don't know why, but I just like the effect it can have. Enjoy

Matt, you have natural talent. very evocative...with your natural gift, i think you will be writing even better poems and probably soon. it was an enjoyable read, i give it a 7, to save room for your 9's and 10's you'll be submitting in the future.
